Terms of service
What this is, and what it isn’t
Please read this before you send your case. Last updated 15 October 2026.
Note for Your Hospital Name: have your legal adviser review and sign off this page before the site goes live. It is a working draft, not legal advice. Delete this box once reviewed.
1. What we provide
A written second opinion, free of charge, from a medical practitioner registered with the National Medical Commission, based on the medical documents and history you send us. It is delivered through a private page on this website within 48 hours of your file being complete.
2. What this opinion is not
- It is not a diagnosis. A diagnosis requires an examination, which we have not performed.
- It is not a prescription. We will not prescribe medicine for a patient we have not examined, and telemedicine rules in India do not permit it.
- It does not replace your treating doctor. They have examined you and know your case in person; we have read your paperwork. Where the two differ, that is a conversation to have with them, and our opinion is meant to help you have it.
- It is not an emergency service. See section 4.
- It is not a medico-legal opinion. We do not provide opinions intended for use in a complaint, claim, insurance dispute or court proceeding against another doctor or hospital, and we will decline a case submitted for that purpose.
3. The opinion is only as good as what you send
We rely entirely on the accuracy and completeness of the documents and history you provide. We cannot verify that a report belongs to the patient named, or that nothing relevant has been left out. If information is missing or wrong, the opinion may be wrong through no fault of the reviewing doctor. This is why we will ask for a missing document rather than proceed without it.
4. Emergencies
This service takes up to 48 hours and is therefore useless in an emergency. If you have chest pain, difficulty breathing, heavy bleeding, sudden weakness or slurred speech, loss of consciousness, a serious fresh injury, or thoughts of harming yourself, go to the nearest hospital immediately. Our casualty number is +91 00000 00000. Do not submit a form and wait.
5. Who may use it
Our doctors are registered to practise in India, so this service is intended for patients in India. You may submit a case on behalf of a family member. If the patient is under 18, a parent or guardian must give the consent.
6. It is free, and it creates no obligation
There is no charge, now or later, for the written opinion. There is no obligation on you to visit, consult or be treated at Your Hospital Name. We will not contact you to sell treatment. If you wish to consult us after reading the opinion, you may contact us and normal consultation charges will apply, which we will tell you in advance.
7. We may decline a case
We may decline, and will tell you why, if: the case is an emergency; no doctor has seen you yet; the documents are unreadable or insufficient; the case needs a speciality we do not have; the request appears to be medico-legal; or the submission appears not to be a genuine patient request. Declining costs you nothing, and we will suggest where to go instead where we can.
8. Capacity
We cap the number of open cases so that the 48-hour commitment stays real. When we are at capacity the form closes temporarily. This is not a fault.
9. Limitation of liability
Our doctors give this opinion with the same professional care they apply to their paid practice, and the fact that it is free does not reduce that duty. What it cannot do is substitute for examination. Decisions about your treatment remain yours, taken with the doctor who is treating you. To the extent permitted by law, Your Hospital Name is not liable for outcomes arising from information you did not provide us, from a delay caused by an incomplete file, or from a decision taken without consulting your treating doctor.
Nothing in this section limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Your records
How we collect, store, share and delete your medical information is set out in How we handle your reports, which forms part of these terms.
11. Complaints
If you are unhappy with the opinion, how it was handled, or how your data was treated, write to our Grievance Officer — details on the grievance page. Clinical concerns are reviewed by Dr. Full Name, who is accountable for the quality of every opinion this service gives.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at the location of Your Hospital Name have jurisdiction.
